New Racking System Transforms Mediq UK’s Castle Donington Site

In readiness for this launch date, we have been charting the progress made at our site so far. In just 3 months our empty warehouse has been transformed by installing a new racking system with capacity for 38,800 pallet spaces. The backbone of our warehouse, this new racking system has 63 aisles, each 60m long, that include 51 wide aisle runs and 24 VNA aisle runs fitted with guidance systems for VNA trucks. 

The bespoke design of our racking system offers a combination of pick levels and bulk storage, with each pick and pallet location labelled for electronic scanning. By investing in our largest site to date, and upgrading our warehouse and transport management systems, this will optimise our healthcare supply operations, support our suppliers, and reduce procurement costs for our healthcare provider customers.
