Klinion® Kliniderm® Foam Silicone Dressings

Gentle, Conformable and Comfortable

Klinion® Kliniderm® Foam Silicone is an absorbent polyurethane foam dressing with a soft silicone wound contact layer. The silicone layer protects the peri-wound skin and reduces pain during dressing changes. The foam core absorbs and retains exudate, while allowing partial evaporation to increase total absorption capacity. The dressing supports moist wound therapy.

  • Applying Klinion® Kliniderm® Foam Silicone Dressings

    1. Clean the wound according to local protocols, and ensure the peri-wound skin is dry.
    2. Choose a dressing size that overlaps the wound margins by at least 2 cm.
    3. Gently apply the dressing to the wound and press down the adhesive border to secure it.
Removal: to remove, gently peel the dressing away until fully detached from the wound.

    Dressing Change and Removal

    1. Klinion® Kliniderm® Foam Silicone dressings may remain in place for up to 7 days, depending on wound status and exudate levels.
    2. Replace the dressing earlier if saturation is reached, or as clinically indicated (for example, post-operative dressing change when sutures are removed).
    3. When removing, support adjacent skin and gently lift the dressing. If removal is difficult, moisten with sterile saline.
    4. After removal, irrigate the wound or follow local wound care protocols as needed.

    Precautions

  • In suspected or confirmed infection, consult a healthcare professional for appropriate management.
  • Some gel or fluid may accumulate under the dressing; this is a normal effect of the silicone/foam system and should be cleaned upon dressing change.
  • Not to be used in patients with known sensitivity to silicone, polyurethane, or acrylic adhesives.
  • Sterile unless packaging is damaged; do not use if pouch or seal is compromised.
  • Single use only; re-use may lead to infection.
  • Do not re-sterilise.
  • For external use only. Use under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
