Klinion Kliniderm Hydrocolloid Thin Dressings

A sterile, hydro-active, self-adhesive dressing with a thin profile, designed for low-exuding superficial wounds.
Klinion Kliniderm® Hydrocolloid Thin combines a semi-permeable polyurethane film with a hydrocolloid matrix, forming a flexible, conformable dressing that supports a moist wound environment and protects against outside contaminants. The dressing is impermeable to water and bacteria, yet breathable to vapour, and is designed not to adhere to the wound surface, helping reduce pain on dressing removal and preventing damage to newly formed tissue.
Not made with natural rubber latex or DEHP.

Product Benefits

  • Maintains a moist wound healing environment
  • Does not adhere to the wound surface — reduces pain during removal and protects new tissue
  • Impermeable to water and bacteria (protective barrier)
  • Thin, flexible, and conformable to body contours
  • Can remain in place for up to 7 days (depending on wound condition and exudate)
  • Available in multiple sizes and variants (Thin, Border, Standard, etc.)
  • Compatible with compression therapy when indicated
  • Indications

Klinion Kliniderm® Hydrocolloid Thin is indicated for low-exuding chronic and acute wounds, including:

  • Burns (superficial)
  • Donor or graft sites
  • Post-operative wounds
  • As a protective dressing on skin under friction or shear stress
  • Contraindications

Klinion Kliniderm® Hydrocolloid is not indicated for ulcers caused by chronic infection, arteriopathy stage IV, bites and third-degree burns.

Applying Klinion Kliniderm Hydrocolloid Thin Dressings

    1. Cleanse the wound following local protocols and ensure peri-wound skin is dry.³
    2. Select a dressing size so the dressing overlaps the wound margins by 2–3 cm.¹
    3. Remove the protective liner(s), apply the adhesive side onto the wound surface, and smooth out edges to ensure full contact and avoid wrinkles.³
    4. Press gently around the edges to secure adhesion.³

    Dressing Change and Removal

    1. The dressing may remain in place up to 7 days, depending on exudate and wound status.¹
    2. Change earlier if gel formation extends beyond the wound, exudate saturation is evident, or signs of infection appear.²
    3. To remove, gently peel back from one edge while supporting surrounding skin. If the dressing is adherent, moisten the edges with sterile saline to ease removal.³
    4. Dispose of used dressings per local clinical waste guidelines.³

    Precautions

  • In case of signs of infection, consult a healthcare professional for adequate infection treatment.
  • A yellowish gel with characteristic odor can develop under the dressing. This is not a sign of infection but a normal phenomenon when using hydrocolloid dressings which will disappear after cleaning the wound.
  • Do not use on patients with a known sensitivity to polyurethane, carboxymethylcellulose or acrylic adhesives. Sterile if pouch and seal are intact. Do not use if damaged.
  • Do not re-use. Re-use can cause serious infections.
  • Do not re-sterilize.
  • For external use only. For use under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
