Klinion® Kliniderm® Foam Dressings

Klinion® Kliniderm® Foam is a next-generation foam dressing available in three variants: non-border (no adhesive edge), border (with adhesive edge), and heel. It is one of the most commonly used advanced wound dressings, offering high absorbency, comfort, and a wear time of up to 7 days.
The foam core absorbs exudate directly, while a high vapor permeability top layer allows excess fluid to escape, reducing the risk of maceration. The dressing is suitable for use under compression therapy and can serve as a secondary dressing in cavity wounds.

Product Benefits

  • Soft, comfortable and highly absorbent
  • Maintains a moist wound environment
  • High vapor permeability to manage excess fluid
  • Provides a bacterial barrier
  • Suitable for use under compression bandaging
  • May be used as a secondary dressing for cavity wounds
  • Wear time of up to 7 days
  • Available in three variants (border, non-border, heel)
  • Indications

Klinion® Kliniderm® Foam Dressings are indicated for moderate to heavily exuding acute and chronic wounds, including:
  • Pressure ulcers

  • Applying Klinion Kliniderm Foam Dressings

    1. Clean the wound following local protocols, and ensure the peri-wound skin is dry.
    2. Select a dressing size that overlaps the wound margins by at least 2 cm. If necessary, trim to fit.
    3. For border variants: gently apply to the wound and press down the adhesive edge to secure.
For non-border or heel variants: apply the dressing with the pink side up and fix in place using a retention bandage or tape.
Removal: to remove, gently peel back the dressing until its completely removed from the wound.

    Dressing Change and Removal

    1. A Klinion® Kliniderm® Foam dressing may remain in place for up to 7 days, depending on wound condition and exudate levels.
    2. Replace earlier if saturation occurs, or according to clinical judgement and local protocols.
    3. During removal, support adjacent skin and lift the dressing carefully; if removal is difficult, moisten with sterile saline.
    4. After removal, cleanse or irrigate the wound as per local wound-care practice.

    Precautions

  • In case of suspected or established infection, consult a healthcare professional for appropriate management.
  • Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to polyurethane, adhesives, or other dressing components.
  • Sterile unless pouch and seal are intact.
  • Do not use if packaging is damaged.
  • Single use only; re-use may lead to infection.
  • Do not re-sterilise.
  • For external use only. Use under supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
