Kliniderm Foam Silicone Border Flexible Dressings
Kliniderm® Foam Silicone Border Flexible! This new product group consists of 7 sizes and offers extra flexibility and extensibility. The Kliniderm® Foam Silicone Border Flexible has unique Z- shaped cuts that allow for a more flexible dressing. This dressing can be used when extra flexibility is needed. Due to the special design the dressing is able to stay in place better during regular wear. The transparent design allows the healthcare professional to check in on the level and type of exudate without disturbing the wound. This might guide the professional in dressing changes, or whenever good wound practice dictates that the dressing should be changed. Kliniderm® Foam Silicone Border Flexible is intended for moderately to heavily exuding chronic and acute wounds and may be used throughout the healing process.
Kliniderm® Foam Silicone Border Flexible Dressings are sterile wound dressings made from polyurethane foam. The wound contact layer is coated with a layer of soft silicone that does not stick to the wound surface and reduces trauma to delicate new tissue upon removal. This soft silicone layer is also slightly tacky, which facilitates application and retention of the dressing to intact skin, but does not cause epidermal stripping or pain upon removal. The center of the dressing is an absorbent polyurethane foam which can lock wound exudate into the product, preventing the drying out of the wound bed and maceration of the surrounding skin. The outer layer of the foam has a high permeability to allow effective vapor transfer, is waterproof and provides a bacterial barrier. As Kliniderm® Foam Silicone Border Flexible maintains a moist wound environment, supporting debridement, there might be an initial increase in the wound size. This is normal and to be expected.
Not made with natural rubber latex or DEHP. Medical device.
Product Benefits
Indications
Kliniderm® Foam Silicone Border Flexible Dressings are indicated for moderate to heavily exuding chronic and acute wounds and may be used throughout the healing process on the following wounds:
Applying Kliniderm Foam Silicone Border Flexible Dressings
1. Select a suitable size of Kliniderm® Foam Silicone so that the dressing overlaps the wound margins by approximately 2cm/0.8’’. Non-bordered dressings can be cut to size if necessary.
2. Remove the release film before use and apply the adherent side to the wound.
3. If necessary, Kliniderm® Foam Silicone can be fixated with a bandage or other fixation.
Dressing Change and Removal
1. Kliniderm® Foam Silicone Dressings can remain in place for up to 7 days, dependent on the condition of the patient and the level of exudate.
2. Replace Kliniderm® Foam Silicone when the dressing has reached its absorbent capacity or whenever good wound practice dictates that the dressing should be changed.
3. Gently remove the dressing from the wound bed and skin (by supporting the surrounding skin) and dispose according to local procedures and guidelines. If removal appears to be difficult, saturate the dressing with sterile saline solution.
4. If required, irrigate the wound site according to good wound care practice.
